Neta Genelle Rice, 94, of Fort Smith passed away August 9, 2020. She was born April 8, 1926 in Charleston, Arkansas to the late Nick and Edith (Banning) Thomas. She was a member of Harvest Time Church. She retired and volunteered at Mercy, enjoyed home ministry and was a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband Grady Rice, two sons, James and Jerry Rice and one sister, Veta Long. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at Smith Mortuary Charleston, Arkansas with interment at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Roselawn Cemetery, Fort Smith. Viewing will be Wednesday 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Smith Mortuary Charleston, Arkansas. Left to cherish her memory is one daughter; Kathy Hendrix of Central City; three sons, Michael Rice, Billy Rice and Phillip Rice all of Fort Smith; one sister, Bonnie Thomas of Springdale, Arkansas; twenty grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
